Exhibition @ Vittoriano until 2 June 2018. One more Monet exhibition – you could think after so many Monet paintings seen in Paris or other places in France. But what was really awesome in Rome: nearly unknown unseen paintings of Monet’s old age in Giverny: willows, lilies and roses – thus FRESH IN A MANIFOLD SENSE: 1) the impression of the Giverny garden 2) the paintings in spite of the painter’s old age (81/82 years) 3) the modern character of his simplified flowers and nearly abstract trees (maybe having influenced Jackson Pollock and others) 4) the way it is presented (only until 2 June) @ Vittoriano 5) with works not known or seldom seen
